04/01/07 MKTV have announced that this Sunday's British Basketball League (BBL) Cup Final is to be televised live from Birmingham's National Indoor Arena on the satellite platform, with live streaming via broadband internet. The BBL Cup Final, which commences at 3.00pm on Sunday 7th January, is to be contested between the Poujoulat Heat Guildford and the Scottish Phoenix Honda Rocks. The Heat are looking to win the first piece of silverware in the club’s history; whilst the Rocks hope to make it third time lucky having been losing finalists in two of the last three years. The live show will air on the Life 24 Channel (Sky Channel 138), with ensuing highlight programmes following the weekend.
Furthermore, the BBL is to join a host of forward-thinking sporting
organisations by capitalising on broadband technology to stream the show live.
The biggest game of the season so far will be available via broadband through
MK-TV.co.uk and streamed by the popular
UKTVSlam site; plus through association with
FIBA the game will be taken to 120 countries. The game is likely to produce one of the most exciting spectacles of the basketball season, as star players such as Rob Yanders, Brian Dux and Great Britain internationals Mike Martin and Julius Joseph, lay it all on the line in pursuit of the BBL Cup. If you want to experience the showpiece event in person then tickets are still available through the NEC Box Office on 0870 909 4144 or online at www.boxoffice.necgroup.co.uk. If you cannot make it to the NIA then be sure to catch all of the action as it happens on Sky Channel 138 or MK-TV.co.uk
