EBL COMPOSITION, 2006-7
03/05/06 |
The competition format, and
membership, for EBL Senior Leagues was published by EB today, and, with the
exception of developments below Division 2, the Men's competition shows few
surprises.

EBL Division
1 remains at 14 teams, and the Division 2 League Champions, West
Herts Warriors, have been promoted.
However, as half expected, the EBL2
runners-up (and new Championship Winners), Mansfield Express, have chosen
to remain in Division 2 for another year, until the situation regarding a
replacement venue for Mansfield Leisure Centre has been clarified.
Rather than promote another team,
however, it has been decided to retain Kings Lynn Fury in Division 1. I
suspect that the good development work they are doing in their area, together
with the absence of any other league clubs nearby, will have influenced that
decision.
Nottingham Knights, who
finished bottom of Division 1, and failed to attract meaningful crowds at their
new venue of Nottingham Trent University, do find themselves back in Division 2.
