The EBL Men’s National Cup semi final draw has been confirmed today. Last season’s Cup winners Reading Rockets will travel to the English Institute of Sport – Sheffield to take on the Arrows while the Essex and Herts Leopards host Worcester Wolves in the other semi final. The Rockets defeated Sheffield in last year’s Cup final when E.J. Harrison connected on one of two free throws to clinch the game with no time remaining on the clock. Under the offensive prowess of guard Noah Brown, the Arrows remain unbeaten in all matches this season and will look to continue this streak on the weekend of 19th / 20th November in front of their home fans. The Essex and Herts Leopards have arguably caused the upset of the season so far after defeating London United 74-50 in the third round of the Cup. They came from behind to beat the Solent Stars last weekend in the quarters (101-75) and now find themselves hosting another undefeated side this season – the Worcester Wolves. 26-year old Josh Cooprider decided to hang the boots up for Worcester at the end of last season only to become the team’s head coach. With the addition of shooting guards Valdas Ubronavicius (Lithuania) and Andy Harper (USA), it seems the Leopards must again defy the odds if they are to advance to the National Cup finals in Birmingham next month.
