BBL LOOKING FOR THE BEARS FACTS

14/02/06

A further statement, on the BBL website, on the day that Rodman is due to take to the court for the Bears again, says:

"As a result of our ongoing investigation in to the eligibility of the Brighton Bears team Andrew Alleyne has been de-registered for BBL Competitions with immediate effect."

Which, roughly translated, appears to mean "Alleyne's been cut, for the moment, to make sure the Bears don't breach the regulations in the next two games"

BBL Statement reads:

"We were delighted to see that Dennis Rodman took part in the BBL game between Brighton Bears and Guildford Heat on Saturday 28th January and the that UK fans have had the opportunity to see him play.

"However, we are aware that allegations have been made against Brighton Bears for breaching player eligibility rules in this fixture.

"We will be requesting that the Bears supply further information in to our investigation in this matter."
