HISTORY:
Westminster were admitted to
NBL 2 in 1994, and won the division, and promotion, in their second season.
Finished 6th in Div. 1 in
their first season, but slipped slowly down the table in the following seasons,
and in the "clean-sweep" reorganisation of 2000 they were not among the few
teams selected for the NBL Conference; "remaining" in NBL1 effectively meant
returning to the second division.
In 2004 problems with the
flooring at their home court resulted in them withdrawing from the league before
the start of the new season.
They continued to run a youth
development programme, however, and in 2007 they re-entered the league, in the
relatively new EBL4.
The Midlands/South Division
proved to be a very strong one, but Westminster still succeeded in finishing in
second place, on "countback" against champions Derby II. Gained promotion to
Division 3 at the first attempt.
