By Road:  From NW or SE along the M6 leave at junction 6 (signed Birmingham Central) to join the A38 (M).  At end of motorway keep to the right, go over a flyover, then through 3 underpasses to join A38 Bristol Rd.  The University is on your right 2.5 miles from the city centre.

From the SW, leave the M5 at junction 4 (signed Birmingham SW) to join the A38.  University is on the left of the A38 Bristol Rd approximately 8 miles from the motorway.

To approach the motorway from the M40 and M42 through the southern suburbs can be confusing.  It is easier to turn south on the M42 and leave at junction 1 to join the A38 and then drive north to the campus.

HISTORY:

There have been quite a few University teams in the history of the National League, but the University of Birmingham appears to be breaking the mould by lasting longer than the others.

Under the dedicated tutelage of the vastly experienced Peter Mintoft, the University team entered NBL Division 3 in 2000, finishing a very creditable sixth in their first season.

Despite this they found themselves in the (lower) NBL 3 in 2001, following the splitting of Division 1 into Conference and NBL 1. After one season, though, that division disappeared, and they were "back" into NBL 2, which was now regionalised.

Very much in the centre of the country, they have competed in no less than four different regions of that Division, starting in the North (for 2 years), transferring to the South, when it was short of participants, in 2003, finding themselves in the West in 2004, and competing in the Midlands in 2005! When the division reverted to two regions, in 2006, they were back in the North - and won promotion, as Champions, in a very competitive division.
