Leave the M27 at Junction 8. You will go down a sliproad to a large roundabout with the M27 passing over it.

If you have come from the Southampton direction (Junctions 5, 6, 7) then at the roundabout turn right (3rd exit). If you have come from the Portsmouth direction (Junctions 11, 10, 9) then at the roundabout turn left (1st exit). You will now be heading on A3024 towards Hamble-le-Rice and Butlock's Heath.

You will drive down a short length of dual-carriageway. Stay in the left hand lane. You will arrive at a large roundabout. Take the second junction off it (A3025), signposted to Hamble. You will now be passing a Tesco’s Extra on your left. (Stay in the right-hand lane otherwise you will be directed into the Tesco’s carpark). This road is the B3397, which you will travel down for approximately 1.5 miles. Go straight over the small Tesco's roundabout. (2nd exit) Go straight over another small roundabout. (2nd exit) Go straight over at some traffic lights, and keep going down this road. You will pass a few vegetable stalls as you go.

You come to a (new) roundabout. Go straight over (1st exit). Turn almost immediately left into Satchell Lane. Follow Satchell Lane (which heads round to the right) and take the first right (before the bridge). Hamble Sports Complex car park is the gate to the left.

HISTORY:

The original Solent Women's team pre-dated the men's by two years, entering the inaugural Women's Division 2 in 1977, and winning promotion in their first season.

Several fruitful years followed, with third place achieved in 1982, but a decline then set in, and having finished bottom of Division 1 in 1985 they withdrew from the competition.

Re-etering Division 2 a decade later, they again enjoyed reasonable immediate success, with a fourth place finish, and once again slid down the table to finish last in 1999.

This time the absence lasted just four years, as Solent Stars again re-entered the Women's League in 2003.

The team was a blend of local players, who had come through the excellent development programme, and those recruited from a wider area, and they proved an immediate success, with an unbeaten campaign that secure them the Division 2 South title, the Women's Trophy, and the Division 2 Championship.

This was followed by an excellent debut season in Division 1 (following the Regional Qualifying Leagues, to reorganise the divisions), in which they finished fourth.
