HISTORY:

Now one of the most highly-respected clubs in the EBL, and the first to achieve coveted "5 star" status, Manchester Magic evolved out of the "2nd" team of the now defunct Manchester Giants.

Manchester "B" (Blue Jays) were founder members of NBL 2 in 1988, and were promoted to NBL 1 in 1990, but relegation and withdrawal followed the next Season.

When the new NBL 3 was formed in 1997, Manchester "B" were back in, and won immediate promotion, as runners-up, in 1998.

The Giants lost interest in running a reserve team in mid-Season, but the team survived by becoming independent, as Manchester Attitude.

As "City of Manchester" they won NBL 2 in 2000, and though not initially selected for membership of the new Conference, during reorganisation, they won their place in the elite on appeal.

Their hugely successful development programme has not only won praise, but also twenty-four Age-group titles since 2000, and they have maintained a strong showing in the top EBL division, despite the regular loss of their top youngsters to places at College in the USA.

The National Cup, in 2007, became their first top-flight EBL silverware, which they retained in 2008 before going on to lift the Division 1 title.
