HISTORY:

Sheffield Forgers entered NBL Division 2 in 1991, following the hugely successful World Student Games held in the city.

Won NBL2, and the Championship, in 1993, and gained promotion to NBL1.

Finished fourth in their first season in Division 1, and the lure of the potential use of Sheffield Arena secured their elevation to the BBL, as Sheffield Sharks.

Made an instant impact, winning the League and Cup "double" in their first season, and established themselves over the following years as one of the most difficult teams to beat, and have never yet finished outside the top four!.

Further League titles followed, in 1999 and 2003, along with the BBL Trophy and the Cup three times. The Championship, however, proved elusive, until they finally achieved their long overdue victory, in 2004, ten years after their entry into BBL, as well as lifting the inaugural BBL Cup in that same season.
