COMES TO LEEDS

17/02/10

After nearly 50 years of running the most successful basketball development camps in the world Five-Star Basketball would like to announce a partnership with Leeds Carnegie Basketball  that will bring the very 1st traditional Five Star Basketball camp to the United Kingdom.

Five-Star Basketball boasts a reputation of giving their campers an opportunity to learn and develop as an individual while competing against the very best. Supporting those statements over 400 NBA basketball players have honed their game at Five-Star basketball including Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Vince Carter.

Until this year countless players from around the United Kingdom have had to travel to the USA in order to experience the Five-Star tradition but this year Leeds Carnegie Basketball will bring that experience to 120 junior/senior national league male participants between the ages of 11– 19 at Leeds Metropolitan University from August 9 - 13th.

The camp will run from 9am -10pm each day and will be offered to both residential and non-residential campers. Those staying the night have the great fortune to be staying in the newly built Carnegie Village located only steps from the door of the sports facilities.

Coaches from the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom as well as Europe will provide the players with a well-rounded basketball education including a phenomenal 8 – 1 camper to coach ratio that ensures all campers will be receiving individual instruction and feedback throughout the entire week.

Anyone who is interested in learning more about the camp or registering for the camp please visit visit 5starbball.tv.

Spaces are limited and we encourage anyone interested to sign up as soon as possible as clubs from across the United Kingdom as well as Europe have been encouraged to participate. If there are any questions please feel free to contact Matthew Newby the director of basketball at Leeds Metropolitan and Leeds Carnegie at m.newby@leedsmet.ac.uk or via his mobile 07824482647.

The goal of the camp as well as the partnership between Five-Star Basketball and Leeds Carnegie Basketball is to provide players from around the United Kingdom and Europe with an opportunity to experience the Five-Star tradition. A tradition that has helped shape and develop some of the most influential players and coaches in the history of the sport.

Michael Jordan put it best when he was asked about his Five-Star Basketball experience “The camp changed how I felt about basketball and my future. It was the turning point in my life.”
